Christy Martinez-Garcia Announce Her District 1 Candidacy for City Council
Over 50 supporters attended Christy Martinez-Garcia's candidate Announcement.
Martinez-Garcia says she plans to work with city departments, including the Lubbock Police, to continue their efforts of connecting with residents to work collectively to address issues.
In addition, Martinez Garcia says she supports downtown growth and advocates for local businesses to improve the economic conditions of District 1.
“My record of public service and my commitment to the community demonstrate I’ll be a better representative for district one. I know it,” Martinez Garcia said in her announcement. “I live it. I know you. And that, I think, makes all the difference-- I don’t show up when it’s political season, I’m here all the time.”

The City Secretary released a sample ballot for the May 7th General Election. Christy is first on the ballot. Click here to review the sample ballot. The ballot is bilingual in English and Spanish. Early voting begins April 25th through May 3rd. Get out and vote early.
